As the final Technology Blog for my class, i am going to talk about the computer I built for my media editing along with photos of the build.
All together the computer cost me around $1500 with all parts purchased at Microcenter.
For the tower case I got a Cool Master Mid tower case. The tower is powered by a 750 watt EVGA Supernova Bronze power supply. The motherboard I chose was an Asus 797-AR. This motherboard allows me to use an HDMI cable for my monitor to ensure HD quality. I use an Intel I7 4790K processor to allow for amazing video conversion time. For my solid state drive, I chose a Crucial MX100 with 256 GB capacity. This is a decent chunk of memory to start, but I added a 3 terabyte Seagate external Hard drive because i am going to be doing a lot of media and video editing. When it comes to editing, RAM memory is important. For this build I am using two 8gb Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 cards. Last but not least, I have a standard LG disk drive for CD's, DVD's, and games.
This build is absolutely amazing and I have already used it for video editing. As my editing software I purchased Cyberlink Power Director 13 Director Suite. This package came with Cyberlink Power Director 13 (64 bit) WaveEditor 2, Photodirector 6 (64 bit), Color Director 3 (64 bit), and Audio Director 5. All together the software was a little pricey, but was an investment well worth it. To test out my new PC I made an NHL highlight video. the video is 4 minutes long with quite a few video effects. In past computers/Macs a video like this took about 30 minutes to 4 hours to fully render. This build rendered the video in 6 minutes!!!

I am extremely happy with this build and I cannot wait to test its full potential.
